The San Diego Chargers (9-6) will be looking to nail down the final spot in the AFC playoffs when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs (8-7) on Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs were able to beat the Chargers 23-20 in San Diego earlier this season.

Last Saturday, the Chargers were able to snap their two-game losing skid when they beat the San Francisco 49ers 38-35 in overtime on the road. They had 446 yards of offense in that win, including 348 yards through the air.

So far this season, the Chargers are scoring just 22.7 points per game while giving up 21.9 points per game. Veteran quarterback Philip Rivers has completed 67 percent of his passes this season for 3,995 yards, 31 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Right end Antonio Gates has also had a great year by catching 65 passes for 754 yards and a team-high 12 touchdowns.

The Chiefs have now lost four out of their last five games after the Pittsburgh Steelers beat them 20-12 on the road last Sunday. They played pretty well on the defensive side of the ball in that loss, but their offense only gained 39 yards on the ground.

Kansas City's defense has been one of the best in the AFC this year by only giving up 18.3 points per game. Their offensive MVP has been running back Jamaal Charles, who has rushed for 979 yards and nine touchdowns this season.
