On Saturday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are coming off of a disappointing 8-8 2013 season, will be taking on the New York Giants in their opening preseason game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers already know that Antonio Brown will be their No. 1 wide receiver come Week 1, but three receivers are going to be battling it out during the preseason for the other roles. Markus Wheaton has the best chance to land the No. 2 job, but Lance Moore and Martavis Bryant will also be given a chance to move up the depth chart during the preseason.
Defensive end Stephon Tuitt was already expected to get plenty of playing time for the Steelers this year, but solid play during training camp has earned him the chance to actually start for Pittsburgh if he does well during the preseason. Cam Thomas will be his main competition for the left end job.
The New York Giants and their fans got their first chance to see rookie running back Andre Williams run the ball in a live game last week in the Hall of Fame game. Rashad Jennings is still thought to be the team's starter, but that could change pretty quickly if Williams has four strong games in August.
Another Giants rookie to watch over the next four weeks is second-round pick Weston Richburg. The center will get every chance this preseason to beat out J.D. Walton, who the Giants signed over the offseason.
