On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles (3-0) will attempt to improve to 4-0 for the first time since 2004 when they visit the San Francisco 49ers (1-2).

Eagles played in a back-and-forth game against the Washington Redskins last Sunday and ended up coming away with a 37-34 home win. The Eagles won despite giving up 511 yards to the Redskins, including 427 yards through the air. Philadelphia is currently second in the NFL in passing with 310.3 yards per game.

Through three games, Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has averaged 310.3 passing yards per game with six touchdown passes and two interceptions. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who has been Foles' top target so far, has caught 16 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns.

Over the weekend, the 49ers had a tough time moving the ball on the ground against the Arizona Cardinals and ended up losing the game 23-14. They didn't turn the ball over in the loss, but they did commit nine penalties for 107 yards. San Francisco is 17th in the NFL in both passing and rushing, and seventh in the NFL against the rush.

Veteran defensive end Justin Smith has 10 tackles and three sacks for the 49ers through the team's first three games, while linebacker Patrick Willis leads the team with 20 tackles. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has completed 70.2 percent of his passes this season for 694 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions, and he has also rushed for 129 yards.
