The only team in the National Football Conference East division that won their opening game of the 2014 National Football League season will look to remain the lone undefeated team in the division when they hit the road in week 2. The Philadelphia Eagles will travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts lost a heartbreaker to their former quarterback and the Denver Broncos last week and will hope to avoid a 0-2 start.
The Eagles offense looked terrible in the first half of their game with the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, as they were trailing 17-0. Then they turned things around and scored 34 unanswered points to end the game. Nick Foles was the man behind the comeback, throwing for 322 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was intercepted once, sacked 4 times, and finished with an 87.5 QB rating. On the ground, LeSean McCoy carried ball 21 times for 74 yards and Darren Sproles added 11 carries for 71 yards and a touchdown. Without DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin was the main target for Foles, making 4 catches for 97 yards and a touchdown with 11 total targets. Rookie tight end Zach Ertz was the second leading receiver with 3 catches for 77 yards and a touchdown.
In the battle between current and former Indianapolis quarterbacks, Luck had a solid game, but couldn't lead his team to victory. He threw for 370 yards and 2 touchdowns, but also threw 2 interceptions and finished with an 83.1 QB rating. The team played from behind most of the game, so they never had a chance to get the running game going. Collectively, they totaled just 54 yards on 14 carries. Reggie Wayne was the main target for Luck, as the second-year quarterback went his way 13 times and completed 9 of the passes for 98 yards.
