Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles will enter Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers.

The Philadelphia Eagles showed that the loss of two of their leaders on offense and defense still couldn’t slow them down.  Even without quarterback Nick Foles and linebacker DeMeco Ryans, the Eagles still had no problem beating the Carolina Panthers 45 – 21 on Monday night.  The Eagles got contributions from their offense, defense and special teams early.  Carolina turned the ball over twice to start the game and Philadelphia turned those mistakes into 10 points.  They also got a punt return touchdown from Darren Sproles to go up 17 -7 after the 1st quarter.  Two more touchdowns made it a 31 - 7 game at the half and the Eagles were firmly in control.  The Eagles’ lead swelled to 45 – 7 in the 4th before the Panthers added 2 late touchdowns to make the score look better on the stat sheet.    Despite the big win, the Eagles will face a dramatically different team when they take on the Packers.    

The Green Bay Packers delivered an epic beating to the Chicago Bears on Sunday night.  The Packers never trailed in the 55 -14 victory and looked like a team ready to make another Super Bowl run.  Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers gave the Bears’ defense fits every time he took the field.  He opened the game with two 1st quarter touchdown passes and followed up that performance with 4 more TD passes in the 2nd quarter to match the Packers franchise record and equal the NFL’s record for TD passes in a half with 6.  With a 42 -0 lead at the half, the Packers had no worries as they just wore down the Bears in the 2nd half.   With the Eagles missing defensive leader DeMeco Ryans, the Packers might be able to put up some more gaudy numbers against Philadelphia.
