Sunday afternoon, the New York Jets will travel to LP Field in Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans.  

The New York Jets have long been out of the playoff picture and at this point in the season, guys are playing for their jobs.  But no one looked like they wanted to keep their job last week as the Jets fell to the Minnesota Vikings 30 -24 in overtime.  The Vikings haven’t been that great this season either and both teams just basically hung around in this game.  Neither the Vikings nor the Jets were really able to pull away from their opponents and as time came to a close, the Jets got the tying field goal to send the game to overtime.   But the Vikings caught the Jets in a blitz and tuned a simple screen pass into a game winning 87 yard touchdown play.   As the Jets limp into Nashville, they will have to contend with another team just trying to finish the season.

The Tennessee Titans will bring the same 2 -11 record that the Jets hold into this game after they lost last week’s contest against the New York Giants  by a score of 36 – 7.   Tennessee quickly fell behind in that game and they didn’t have the talent or the will to make a comeback.  New York took a 23 – 0 lead at the half and extended the lead to 30 -0 before the Titans ever got on the scoreboard.  And Tennessee’s only touchdown came on an interception return by the defense.   The Titans have so many problems on both sides of the ball that it is tough to believe that they will break their 7 game losing streak by beating the Jets.  But with two bad teams, no one really knows what will happen.
