On Thursday night, the New Orleans Saints (3-4) will try to start their first winning streak of the season when they take on the Carolina Panthers (3-4-1). The Saints and the Panthers are currently tied for the top spot in the NFC South.

On Sunday night, the Saints moved the ball with ease against the Green Bay Packers and came up with a dominant 44-23 home win. They had 495 total yards in that win and their defense was able to force three turnovers.

The Saints have one of the best passing teams in the league right now, but they also have one of the worst defenses against the pass. Quarterback Drew Brees has now thrown for 2,227 yards this season with 14 touchdown passes and seven interceptions.

The Panthers lost for the second week in a row on Sunday when they were beaten 13-9 by the Seattle Seahawks at home. They only had 152 passing yards in that loss and they were 2-for-10 on their third down opportunities.

Through eight games, the Panthers are near the bottom of the league in rushing with just 92.9 yards per game on the ground. Quarterback Cam Newton has completed 60.1 percent of his passes this season for 1,643 yards with eight touchdown passes and four interceptions. Their best defensive player has been linebacker Luke Kuechly, who has 89 tackles with one sack and one forced fumble.
