On Monday night, the New England Patriots (2-1) will be hoping that they can win their third game in a row when they go up against the Kansas City Chiefs (1-2).

The Patriots had an excellent day defensively against the Oakland Raiders over the weekend and finished with a 16-9 victory. They held the Raiders to only 241 yards in the win and their offense didn't commit a turnover. New England has only given up 168.7 passing yards per game, which is tops in the NFL.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has only been able to complete 58.8 percent of his passes so far this season, but he does have 632 passing yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. His top target has been wide receiver Julian Edelman, who has 22 catches for 260 yards and one score.

The Chiefs were able to pick up their first win of the season by cruising to a 34-15 victory over the Miami Dolphins. The Chiefs converted nine of their 16 third-down attempts and held the Chiefs to just 191 passing yards in the win. Kansas City is 26th in the NFL in passing right now with just 197.7 yards per game.

Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston has eight tackles so far this season and he leads the team in sacks with three. Quarterback Alex Smith has completed 62.7 percent of his passes for 643 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions, while second-year running back Knile Davis has rushed for 214 yards and two scores.
