Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota Vikings will renew their long-standing rivalry with the Chicago Bears.
The Minnesota Vikings should come into this game well rested after enjoying the bye week. They will also come in riding a two game win streak capped by a nice come from behind victory over the Washington Redskins two weeks ago. In that game, Vikings’ quarterback Teddy Bridgewater kept his team in it the entire way and when he needed to make plays on the final drive, he did. Bridgewater drove his team down the field to get the game winning touchdown and stun the Redskins in Robert Griffin III’s return. As Bridgewater leads his team into a matchup with the archrival Bears, he will have a chance to get his team to .500 against a Chicago team that is falling apart.
The Chicago Bears will take the field at home after getting thoroughly embarrassed by the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night. The Bears were lit up 55 – 14 by a Packers team that had their number from the opening gun. Green Bay jumped out to a 14 - 0 lead after the 1st quarter and topped those numbers by adding 28 points in the 2nd quarter to lead 42 – 0 going into the half. It wasn’t until midway through the 3rd quarter that the Bears got on the board with a Jay Cutler to Brandon Marshall TD pass. But by then, the game was no longer in doubt. If the Bears want to answer the critics, they will come out hard in this game and try to regain some respectability.
