On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins (5-3) will take their solid rushing attack on the road to face the Detroit Lions (6-2). The Dolphins are currently second in the AFC East, and the Lions are in first place in the NFC North.

The Dolphins were able to win their third game in a row last Sunday when they shut out the San Diego Chargers 37-0 on their home field. Their defense held the Chargers to just 178 yards in that game and they forced four turnovers.

The Dolphins have been able to score 26.4 points per game this season while only giving up 18.9 points per game. Running back Lamar Miller has been able to average 4.9 yards per carry this season and has 518 yards with five rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has thrown for 1,907 yards with 14 touchdowns and just six picks.

In their last game, the Lions won their third straight game when they edged the Atlanta Falcons 22-21 on the road. They had 325 passing yards in that game and they were 8-for-15 on their third down chances.

The Lions currently have the number one defense in the NFL by only giving up 15.8 points per game to their opponents. Wide receiver Golden Tate has been excellent in his first year in Detroit, catching 55 passes for 800 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has completed 61.2 percent of his passes for 2,216 yards with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
