On Sunday afternoon, the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3) will hope that they can improve at least one facet of their game when they take on the San Diego Chargers (2-1). In 2013, the Chargers beat the Jaguars 24-6 on the road.

The Jaguars struggled for the third consecutive week when they were defeated 44-17 by the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. The Jaguars gave up 529 yards in that loss and they ended up turning the ball over three times. Right now, Jacksonville has the worst defense in the league against both the pass and the run.

The one player on the Jaguars who has played pretty well this season is defensive end Andre Branch, who has seven tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles through his team's first three games. Running back Toby Gerhart only has 82 yards on 34 carries this season with no touchdowns.

The Chargers played very well defensively against the Buffalo Bills last weekend when they picked up a 22-10 victory. The Chargers didn't turn the ball over in that game and they held the Bills to just 87 rushing yards. San Diego is currently 26th in the NFL in rushing with only 79.3 yards per game.

Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has been excellent so far this season by completing 68.4 percent of his passes for 778 yards, six touchdowns and just one interception. Veteran tight end Antonio Gates has caught 14 of his passes for 185 yards and three scores, while receiver Eddie Royal has 12 catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
