Sunday afternoon, the Indianapolis Colts will take the field at FirstEnergy Stadium to face the Cleveland Browns.

The Indianapolis Colts increased their AFC South lead by beating the Washington Redskins 49 - 27 last week.  Behind quarterback Andrew Luck, the Colts moved the ball efficiently up and down the field as Luck threw for a career best 5 touchdowns.  Luck also broke or tied numerous NFL records as the Colts lit up the Redskins.  It was a dominant performance even if the final score didn’t really reflect that fact.   The Colts should be able to move the ball just as effectively against the Browns but Cleveland will likely look to clamp down on the Colts and stifle Luck.  A Colts win will further solidify their division lead and push them closer to the playoffs.

The Cleveland Browns needed a win to help them keep pace in the AFC North but they failed to get it as they lost 26 -10 to the Buffalo Bills last week.  Even more so than the loss itself, the big story was the appearance of quarterback Johnny Manziel late in the game.  After a poor showing by Brian Hoyer, Manziel got the call and nearly brought the Browns back.  But the Browns just didn’t perform like a team still trying to make the playoffs.  The offense never got hot and the defense allowed the Bills to break the game wide open in the 2nd half. The question now is which quarterback will get the start next week?  With the division as tight as usual, the decision of Hoyer or Manziel could affect not only the short term future of the Browns, it could affect their long term prospects too.
