If anybody can have some pity on the Giants and their abysmal start it's the Texans, who dropped the final 14 games last year to finish with a 2-14 season. For New York to reach 4 games seems like it would take a miracle as they're playing as an undisciplined team who simply makes too many errors. While Houston may have pity, the Texans aren't going to take mercy as they try and get off to a surprising 3-0 start on the season.
J.J. Watt has been in beast mode for Houston through two games but the real story has been the efficiency of their born again offense. Journeyman QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has completed 68% of his passes in Bill O'Brien's offense and Arian Foster, once thought to be old and broken, has ran for 241 yards through two games. The Texan defense has allowed only 20 points all year (1st in NFL) and forced four turnovers a week ago, something that doesn't bode well for the slippery-fingered Giants.
The Giants looked horrible in front of a live studio audience to kick off the year, getting outmanned by Detroit 35-14 on Monday Night Football. New York looked less horrible in week two but the results were the same, with the Giants committing four turnovers in a 25-14 loss to Arizona. Eli Manning seems poised early in the year...to break his personal record of 27 INT set a season ago after throwing 4 through 2 games already. The New York defense has especially suffered from opponents having short field position, ranking 4th worst in the league allowing 30 PPG.
The Texans were asked if they see this as a look ahead game because of the Giants struggles but they responded well, saying no games in the NFL should be ignored especially when the Texans won only 2 games a year ago. The Giants are a dangerous team playing as home underdogs week after week but in addition to dangerous they are also bad.
