Sunday afternoon, the Detroit Lions will head west to take on the Arizona Cardinals.

The Detroit Lions will come to Glendale, Arizona leading the NFC North and looking to take a game from another division leader as they make the push towards the playoffs. Detroit will look to build off their 4^th win in a row last week when they escaped with a 20 -16 win over the Miami Dolphins. In that game, Detroit squandered an early lead and had to rally to steal the win. Against the Arizona Cardinals, the Lions won't be able to rely on one of their patented comebacks if they want a win. Arizona wants to show the rest of the league that they can still move forward without starting quarterback Carson Palmer.

The Arizona Cardinals surprised a lot of people last week by seemingly shaking off the loss of Carson Palmer and circling the wagons behind backup quarterback Drew Stanton as they beat the St. Louis Rams 31 - 14. With Palmer lost for the rest of the season due to a torn ACL, Stanton will get another chance to show that he is capable of picking up where Palmer left off. Stanton started 3 games in place of Palmer earlier this season and won 2 of those games. He will get more of a test against the Lions than he did against the Rams. But given the way that he has played so far this season, it looks like Stanton will at least give the Cardinals an opportunity to win instead of hurting their chances like many backup quarterbacks could.
