Thursday night, the Buffalo Bill will visit the Miami Dolphins.
The Buffalo Bills will come into this one after getting humiliated by the Kansas City Chiefs 17 - 13 on Sunday. While the score doesn’t sound that humiliating, it’s how the Chiefs came away with the win that the Buffalo faithful were angry about. Buffalo took the lead in the1st quarter after a Kyle Orton to Chris Hogan touchdown pass. Kansas City got a field goal a few minutes later to make it a 7 -3 game. Both teams seemed to stumble for the next 2 quarters with Buffalo adding a field goal in the 2nd and one in the 3rd to extend their lead to 13 – 3. But then, as they usually do, the Bills collapsed in the late stages of the game. The Chiefs scored 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter to snatch the win away from Bills. Unless the Bills can find a way to close out games, the chances of them breaking their playoff drought are slim and none.
The Miami Dolphins suffered a humiliating collapse of their own on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. After falling behind and then rallying, the Dolphins allowed the Lions to come back to get a 20 – 16 victory. Miami spotted Detroit a 10 – 0 1st quarter lead but they mounted a comeback. Between the 2nd and 3rd quarters, Miami scored 13 unanswered points to take a 13 - 10 lead. But they seemingly forgot that the Lions have become the masters of the late game comeback. A Detroit field goal tied the game early in the 4th and after Miami responded with a field goal of their own, the Lions got the game winning touchdown with just seconds left. Both Miami and Buffalo will bring identical 5 – 4 records into this one and a victory for either team is a must if they want to remain in the AFC playoff hunt.
