The world famous Solider Field will host a game between the Buffalo Bills and the Chicago Bears. The Bills, representing the American Football Conference East division will take on the Bears, a National Football Conference North team in the opening week of the season. Both teams missed out of the playoffs a year ago and will be looking to get the 2014 season started out the right way with a win.

A year ago, the Bills had trouble getting their offense rolling consistently to become a legitimate threat in the tough AFC conference. With a 6-10 record, the team left a lot of scoring chances on the field, but throughout the season, saw great potential in their first round pick, quarterback EJ Manual. Manual was aided by the rushing duo of C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson, who are both still with the team in 2014. In the upcoming season, the team will be aided in their quest to reach the playoffs for the first time since 1999 when they lost in the “Music City Miracle,” game by Sammy Watkins, the rookie wide receiver from Clemson, who has impressed throughout the preseason.

For the Bears, the 2013 season was not one they would call pretty. They finished the regular season at 8-8 and missed making the playoffs by a half game, as their rivals from Green Bay finished at 8-7-1. They dealt with various Jay Cutler injuries throughout the season and many fans and pundits questioned whether they would be better with a healthy Cutler or with Josh McCown at the position late in the year. Needing just a single win in the final two weeks to earn a playoff spot, the Bears faltered behind Cutler. In this season opener, they will again be led by Cutler, as well as Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery, and Brandon Marshall.
