Friday night, the USC Trojans will face the Utah Runnin' Utes.

The USC Trojans notched their 2^nd win in a row on Tuesday night as they dispatched the Vermont Catamounts 64 -56. The Trojans started off strong but the Catamounts didn't let the game get out of hand until the later stages of the first half. USC broke the game open with a 22 - 9 run to take a 43 -26 lead at the break. Vermont came out for the 2^nd half determined to cut into the lead and they did just that. The Catamounts got to within 5 points late in the game but the bigger, stronger Trojans shut down the rally once and for all. USC was paced by Strahinja Gavrilovic's 15 points as the Trojans shot 41% from the field. Another big game will be needed from the USC squad if they want to have a chance at beating the top 10 ranked Utes.

The Utah Runnin' Utes added their 3^rd win in arrow on Tuesday after they demolished the Carroll College Fighting Saints 85 - 49. That game was basically over the minute it started as the Utes opened up with a 23 - 4 run. The Fighting Saints tried to make a game of it but by halftime, the Utes were up 54 - 23. And Utah stayed comfortable ahead for the rest of the way. Jordan Loveridge led the way for Utah with 14 points as the Utes shot a lusty 64% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc. As Pac-12 play begins, the Utes will face tougher competition than the Fighting Saints. But given the way that Utah has played so far, it will be tough for the rest of the conference to keep up with them.
