Saturday afternoon, the Pittsburgh Panthers will face the NC State Wolfpack.

The Pittsburgh Panthers took their win streak to 6 games after beating the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles 71 - 54 on Tuesday night. A 7 -0 run gave the Panthers the early momentum and even though the Eagles got back into the game, Pitt was firmly in control. At the half, the Panthers were only up 33 - 24 but that 9 points was a safe margin. In the 2^nd half, the Panthers fended off any chance of the Eagles trying dig into the Pitt lead. Pitt was led by Michael Young and his 16 points as the Panthers shot 53% overall and 33% from the distance. Pitt's run as of late will give them a boost as they start the ACC portion of the season.

The NC State Wolfpack dropped their last game of 2014 on Monday night when they fell 76 - 60 to the Cincinnati Bearcats. The Wolfpack let the Bearcats gain control early and that was not what NC State needed. The Wolfpack tried to keep the game close but the Bearcats would have none of that. At the half, Cincinnati was comfortably ahead by 15 points. In the 2^nd half, the Wolfpack couldn't find a way to cut into the deficit despite a late charge that put them within 10 points. NC State was led by Anthony Barber's 15 point effort as the Wolfpack shot 45% from the field. After opening the season 6 - 0, the Wolfpack have struggled to find consistency. Things will get worse unless NC State can put together some solid efforts game after game.
