Monday night, the Wisconsin Badgers will face the California Golden Bears.

The #5 ranked Wisconsin Badgers had no trouble on December 13th defeating the Nicholls State Colonels by a score of 86 – 43.   The Badgers opened up with an 11 - 2 run and they were off to the races from that point on.  The Colonels struggled to keep up with the highly ranked Badgers and by halftime; Wisconsin was up by 32 points.  Wisconsin carried their double digit lead through the rest of the game as Nicholls State became little more than a training partner for the Badgers.  Sam Dekker led Wisconsin with 17 points as the Badgers shot 51% overall.  While the Colonels weren’t much opposition for the Badgers, the Cal Bears will bring the same 10 - 1 record to this one that Wisconsin holds.

The California Golden Bears had to hold on Friday night for a 78 – 67 victory over the Eastern Washington Eagles.  Eastern Washington made California work hard in the 1st half as the Eagles took the early lead and held it for most of the opening half.   The Golden Bears rallied in the closing minutes of the half to take an 11 point lead at halftime.  But the Eagles weren’t finished pressing the Golden Bears.  The 2nd half was back and forth for most of the way with California pulling away late to secure the win.  The Golden Bears were led by Tyrone Wallace’s 21 point effort as they shot 57% from the field.  The Golden Bears will have a tough fight on their hands as they take on the Badgers in a game that will see one of the teams get only their 2nd loss of the season.
