The 2 seed Wisconsin Badgers (26-7, 12-6 Big Ten) take on 15 seed American University Eagles (20-12, 13-5 Patriot) on Thursday. The Eagles run to the tournament was somewhat surprising this year given the fact they lost three of their starters from last year's squad. After a win over the Boston University Terriers for the Patriots League Division title, the Eagles proved that they deserve a shot in the Big Dance.

For the Eagles, making it past a well-rounded Wisconsin team will prove to be their biggest task of the year. Wisconsin finished the season at No. 2 in the Big-Ten, which is arguably the toughest conference in college basketball. They are also one of Bo Ryan's most dangerous offensive teams he's had in years.  The Badgers took a loss to Michigan State in the conference tournament which should leave Wisconsin with just enough of a chip on their shoulder to carry them through this first game. With players like Frank Kaminsky averaging 13.6 points, Ben Brust averaging 12.9 points, and Sam Dekker averaging 12.7 points, the Badgers have a solid team that will be hard to beat.

The Eagles might be able to stay in the game for a while with Jesse Reed, Tony Wroblicky, and Darius Gardner leading the way but the question is for how long? Wisconsin plays well on both sides of the court and will make it tough on the Eagles.
