The #22 West Virginia Mountaineers will take their high-scoring offense on the road to face the Marshall Thundering Herd on Sunday. Last season, the Mountaineers easily defeated the Thundering Herd 74-64.

Last Sunday, West Virginia got back on the winning track when they routed Northern Kentucky 67-42 on the road. They didn't shoot the ball well in that game, but their defense was able to force Northern Kentucky in committing 20 turnovers.

The Mountaineers are currently one of the top 30 scoring teams in the nation by averaging over 79 points per game. Senior forward Jonathan Holton is now averaging 11.6 points and eight rebounds per game, while senior guard Juwan Staten currently leads the Mountaineers in scoring with an even 15 points per game.

Marshall lost their fourth consecutive game last Saturday when Penn State beat them 73-69 on their home floor. They took care of the ball well in that loss, but they also only ended up making 38.6 percent of their shots.

The Thundering Herd have struggled through eight games, but they are grabbing 41 rebounds per game while holding opponents to just 28.9 rebounds per game. The player to watch out for on Marshall is Sophomore forward Ryan Taylor, who is now averaging 15.3 points and nine rebounds per game. Freshman guard Aleksa Nikolic is the team's top assist man with 3.5 helpers per game.
