In another west coast battle in college basketball, the Washington State Cougars will play at the Spokane Arena in a neutral court battle against the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The Cougars are coming into the game with a 4-4 record. The Cougars are in the Pac-12 conference, and play their first conference game on January 2nd at Stanford. For Gonzaga, they are 7-1 overall this season. The Bulldogs come into the game ranked 9th in the Associated Press Top 25.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs, led by head coach Mark Few took their lone loss on December 6th in overtime to the Arizona Wildcats. The Bulldogs have put together impressive wins over SMU and neutral court wins over the Georgia Bulldogs and the St John’s Red Storm. The leading scorer for Gonzaga has been Kyle Wiltjer. Wiltjer is scoring 15.9 per game, while the team is scoring just under 85 per game. In the loss to Arizona, Wiltjer scored 15 points, while Kevin Pangos led the team with 6 assists.

Washington State is coming off a 20 point win over Texas San- Antonio. In the win Davonte Lacy scored a team high 31 points. Lacy is the leading scorer for the Cougars, with 18.5 per game. The Cougars are averaging just fewer than 15 assists per game, which is 76th in the nation. Washington State’s top wins came over Rice and Missouri State in overtime. The Cougars lost their first two games of the season at UTEP and TCU.
