The Atlantic Coast Conference will take on the Big 12 conference on Tuesday night. The Virginia Tech Hokies will battle the West Virginia Mountaineers. Virginia Tech comes into the tilt with an 8-4 record; 0-1 on the road. The Hokies are coming off a 22 point win over Presbyterian. For West Virginia, they are ranked 18th in the latest Associated Press poll. The Mountaineers are 11-1 overall, and 4-1 in home games.

The Mountaineers lone loss came December 4th at home to LSU. The Mountaineers since that loss have won their last four games. West Virginia is scoring 78.7 points per game. In their latest win, the Mountaineers got 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists from Juwan Staten. Staten is leading the team with 16 points per game. West Virginia will start their Big 12 season on January 3rd against the unbeaten Horned Frogs of TCU.

For Virginia Tech, they are seeking their fifth straight win. After their loss on December 7th to Radford, the Hokies downed Alabama A&M, The Citadel, VMI, and Presbyterian. The leading scorer for the Hokies has been Justin Bibbs, with 12.7 per game. Adam Smith is also adding 12.4 for Virginia Tech. The Hokies will start their ACC play on January 3rd when they meet Jim Boeheim's Syracuse Orange.
