In what should be one of the games of the weekend, the #12 Villanova Wildcats will be taking on the #15 VCU Rams in the Progressive Legends Classic on Monday night.
On Thursday night, Villanova moved to 3-0 by defeating Bucknell 72-65 on their home court. They were only able to make 38.9 percent of their shots in that win, but their defense did a great job to force 21 Bucknell turnovers.
So far this season, the Wildcats have been one of the best teams in the country at stealing the ball with 12.3 team steals per game. Junior forward Daniel Ochefu has averaged 10 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, and he has been able to make 68.8 percent of his shots.
VCU was able to score with ease in their game against Maryland-Eastern Shore on Thursday night, coming away with a 106-66 drubbing. They ended up making 55.7 percent of their shots in that win, and they only turned the ball over eight times as a team.
Through their first three games, the Rams are in the top 10 in the nation in scoring with 92.7 points per game. Melvin Johnson has been the Rams' leading scorer so far this year with 18.3 points per game, while senior forward Treveon Graham has been their best all-around player by averaging 18 points and nine rebounds per game.
