On Saturday afternoon, the South Carolina Upstate Spartans will have a tough time extending their winning streak as they will have to visit the #19 Maryland Terrapins. The Spartans are 2-1 on the road so far this year, while the Terps have been able to win seven of their eight home games.

S.C. Upstate won their third game in a row last Saturday when they defeated Georgia Tech 59-54 on the road. They didn't shoot the ball well in that win, but their defense was able to force 17 Georgia Tech turnovers.

The Spartans have one of the top passing teams in the nation right now by averaging 17.4 team assists per game. Their top performer has been senior guard Ty Greene, who is now averaging 16.4 points, three rebounds and 2.2 steals per game. Junior forward ShunQuez Stephens has scored 7.3 points per game this year while pulling down a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game.

On Wednesday night, Maryland won their second straight game when they defeated North Carolina Central 67-56 at home. They made seven of their 15 three-pointers in that win and finished with a 48.8 field goal percentage.

The Terrapins have played well on the offensive end this season, averaging over 76 points per game. Their leading scorer has been senior guard Dez Wells, who is averaging 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.
