On Saturday, the #23 Northern Iowa Panthers will look to keep their perfect record intact when they play the VCU Rams. During the 2013-14 season, the Panthers were able to defeat VCU by the score of 77-68 at home.

In their game against Denver on Wednesday, Northern Iowa played about as well on offense as they could have hoped and came away with a 65-55 road win. They didn't miss many shots in that game, finishing with a very solid 70 field goal percentage.

The Panthers currently have one of the best defenses in the country by only giving up 55.2 points per game. Senior forward Seth Tuttle has been able to make 64 percent of his shot attempts this season and he leads the team in scoring with 15.9 points per game.

VCU didn't play well on either end of the court last Saturday when they were beaten 74-57 by Virginia at home. They made just 38.3 percent of their shot attempts in that loss while also being outrebounded 35-21.

The Rams have scored 74.8 points per game this season, but they have also allowed their opponents to average 70.3 points per game against them. Senior forward Treveon Graham has been their best all-around player by averaging 17.4 points and six rebounds per game. Junior guard Melvin Johnson has scored 16.9 points per game while also averaging 1.1 steals per game.
