Sunday night, the UC Davis Aggies will face the Washington State Cougars.

The UC Davis Aggies escaped with a 73 -63 victory over the Northern Colorado Bears on December 22^nd. The Aggies sprinted out early to take a solid lead over the Bears but the lead didn't hold. Northern Colorado got back into the game and by the break, it was a 30 - 29 game in favor of UC Davis. The Northern Colorado rally continued in the beginning of the 2^nd half as the Bears briefly took the lead. The Aggies weren't behind long as they regained their footing and controlled things for the rest of the way. UC Davis shot 51% from the field and 39% overall as they were led by Josh Ritchart and his 20 points. The 9 -1 Aggies are having one of their best seasons ever and they will try to get their 4^th straight win on Sunday.

The Washington State Cougars ended their 2 game losing streak back on December 21s by beating the San Jose State Spartans 82 - 53. The Cougars might have thought that they would have an advantage against a short staffed Spartans team (5 players were suspended for violating team rules) but the Spartans fought hard early on. Once Washington State wrested control of the game, they never let go. At the half, the Cougars were up 42 -27 mainly due to a monster 25 - 5 run in the 1^st half. The rest of the game was all Washington State as they just wore down San Jose State. The Cougars were led by Josh Hawkinson and his 25 point night as they shot 46% overall. UC Davis won't be as easy to get past as San Jose State was and the Cougars should prepare for a much tougher game.
