Saturday afternoon, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane will take on the Wichita State Shockers.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane had a rough time of it on Wednesday as they lost to the Oklahoma State Cowboys 73 -58.  Tulsa fell behind early and had to play catch up the entire way after that.  The Cowboys pulled away as the half came to an end and had a 45 -30 lead as they went to the locker room.   Oklahoma State resumed their march to start the 2nd half and their defense just completely smothered Tulsa.  The Golden Hurricane were led by Shaquille Harrison and his 17 points but they shot just 34% from the field and 26% from beyond the arc.  Without a better effort on both ends of the floor in their next game, the Golden Hurricane will be looking at another loss.

The Wichita State Shockers had virtually no problem dispatching the Newman Jets 105 – 57 in their last game. The Jets kept pace with the Shockers in the beginning but they could hold on too long.  The Shockers began to pull away and build a double-digit lead.  At the half, Wichita State was up by 34 points and the rout was on.  The 2nd half was just more of the same as the Jets were grounded by their own poor shooting. Wichita State shot 52% from the field and 43% from 3-point territory as they were paced by Ron Baker and his 18 point night.  If the same Shockers team shows up against the Golden Hurricane, they’ll put another mark in the win column.
