Sunday afternoon, the Towson Tigers will make the short trip to visit the Georgetown Hoyas.

The Towson Tigers came away with an 84 – 76 victory over the Coppin State Eagles on Wednesday night.  Points were hard to come by early on as both team found it hard to get the ball in the hoop.  The game stayed tight but Towson eventually found their stroke as they took a 38 -33 lead at the half.  Coppin St. just couldn’t keep up with Towson in the 2nd half as the Tigers broke the game open.  Towson’s John Davis posted a career-high 23 points as the Tigers shot 42% from the field.  The Tigers can expect more competition from the Hoyas when they take the floor on Sunday.

The Georgetown Hoyas ended up on the losing side of the scoreboard in their last game on November 28th as they fell to the Butler Bulldogs 64 – 58.  That game was back and forth for most of the 1st half but in the later stages, Butler started to pull away slightly.  The Bulldogs led 31 - 27 at the half and the game was just as tight in the 2nd half.  Georgetown briefly took the lead late in the 2nd half but they couldn’t hold on as Butler made one last push towards the victory.  The Hoyas were paced by Isaac Copeland and his 16 points as Georgetown shot just 41% from the field and 30% from beyond the arc.  Georgetown will come into this game well rested and should be ready to rebound from that loss.
