Thursday night, the Texas Longhorns will meet the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Texas Longhorns pushed their record to 2 - 0 after beating the Alcorn St. Braves 85 - 53 in their last game. Texas was obviously the better team and they showed it by going on a 15 -0 run to start the game. After that impressive start, the Longhorns had their way with the Braves from that moment on. The Texas lead was 24 points at the half and that provided the Longhorns with plenty of security as the game went on. Texas simply outshot and outrebounded the smaller Alcorn St. team. Alcorn St. shot just 29% from the field while Texas shot 57% as almost the entire team got in on the scoring. Texas also shot 48% from beyond the arc and shooting like that is hard to beat. With more shooting like that, Texas might be looking at a win against Iowa.

The Iowa Buckeyes had no problem going to 2 - 0 as they ran over the North Dakota St. Bison 87 - 56 on Monday night. Iowa started slow and North Dakota St managed to keep the game close early on. But Iowa pulled away as the 1^st half drew to a close and enjoyed a 43 -26 lead at the break. Iowa went on a 12 -0 run to start the 2^nd half and that was all that was needed to stay ahead of North Dakota St. The Buckeyes will face tougher competition against the Longhorns and might not be able to race out to a big lead and just sit on it for the rest of the way.
