On Saturday night, the Texas State Bobcats are going to have a hard time extending their winning streak as they will have to visit the #8 Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns easily beat the Bobcats 85-53 at home last year.

Last weekend, Texas State won their third game in a row when they defeated Prairie View 81-65 at home. They made 60.4 percent of their shot attempts in that win, and their defense was able to force 16 turnovers.

Texas State's defense has been excellent through six games, allowing their opponents to score just 53.8 points per game against them. Their best player has been junior forward Emani Gant, who is currently averaging a team-best 16.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while also making an impressive 65.4 percent of his shots.

Texas lost their first game of the year last weekend when #1 Kentucky beat them 63-51 on the road. In that loss, Texas made less than 30 percent of their shots and they turned the ball over 22 times.

So far this season, the Longhorns have been one of the best rebounding teams in the nation by pulling down 44.5 boards per game. Senior forward Jonathan Holmes has only made 44.6 percent of his shots, but he is averaging 12.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season. Texas' top scorer is guard Isaiah Taylor, who is averaging 15 points per game.
