On Saturday night, the Texas Southern Tigers will have a hard time snapping their three-game losing skid as they will have to go up against the #25 Michigan State Spartans. Texas Southern has gone 0-8 on the road so far this year, while the Spartans are 5-0 on their home court.

Texas Southern lost their third consecutive game on Monday night when #8 Gonzaga easily beat them 94-54 on the road. They made just three of their 17 three-pointers in that loss while also being outrebounded 38-27.

Through their first nine games, the Tigers have one of the worst defenses in the nation by giving up 76.7 points per game. Junior forward Chris Thomas has been Texas Southern's top player so far this season by averaging 15 points and five rebounds per game. Senior guard Madarious Gibbs has scored 9.8 points per game while dishing out a team-high 4.2 assists per game.

Michigan State held Eastern Michigan to 19 first-half points on Wednesday night and rolled to a 66-46 home win. Their defense was excellent in that win, holding Eastern Michigan to an extremely low 22.6 field goal percentage.

The Spartans are averaging 18.4 assists per game this year, which is ninth-best in the country right now. They have been led by senior forward Branden Dawson, who is averaging 10.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game through 11 games.
