The 7 seed Texas Longhorns (23-10, 11-7 Big 12) take on the 10 seed Arizona State Sun Devils (21-11, 10-8 Pac-12) on Thursday night. Despite being being beaten by the Stanford Cardinal in their last game, Arizona State still has a pretty good run going on. Often sitting on the bubble and getting snubbed on selection day, the Sun Devils found their way in this year with both good out of conference and in-conference wins.

Jonathan Gilling looked good in their loss against Stanford, scoring 13 points. Arizona State will be looking for more of that type of contribution from him come Thursday. They will also be looking to Jahii Carson and Jarmaine Marshall for help as they often put in hard work from game-to-game. Carson averages 18.6 points per game and 4.5 assists while Marshall puts up an average of 15 points per game.

The Longhorns have had a good season considering they weren't on the radar at the beginning of the season. But with some impressive Big-12 wins, the Longhorns came up in the tournament as one of the biggest overachievers of the year. This should be a 50/50 game. Both teams are similar in play style, although the Longhorns may lack a little bit when it comes to their offensive game. Both teams also snuck in the tournament under the radar and have a lot to prove. Overall the team with the least amount of mistakes and the most help from their bench will likely be moving on.
