Thursday morning, the Texas A&M Aggies will face the Dayton Flyers.

The Texas A&M Aggies opened the season in grand fashion as they blew out the Northwestern State Demons 109 -68 to make them 1 -0 coming into this game. The Reed Arena in College Station was rocking from the opening tip as the Aggies jumped out to a 55 -22 lead after the 1^st half of play. The rout was certainly on as the Aggies continued to pour it on against the Demons in the 2^nd half. Texas A&M shot 56% from the field and 47% from beyond the arc. They committed more fouls than the Demons but that is something that can be worked on. The Aggies were led by Jalen Jones and Antwan Space as each had 16 points. If Texas A&M can show the same thing against Dayton, they could go to 2 - 0.

The Dayton Flyers also opened their season with a win as they beat the Alabama A&M Bulldogs 76 - 52. The Flyers raced to a big lead in front of the home crowd and led 43 - 25 at the half. The Flyers didn't stop in the 2^nd half as they continued to outrebound and outhustle the Bulldogs. The Dayton lead went as high as 28 points as Alabama A&M served as little more than practice partners for the Flyers. Dayton was led by Dyshawn Pierre and his 16 point night. The Flyers looked strong but they will face stiffer competition from the Aggies in their next game. If they can keep up the energy, they will have a shot against Texas A&M.
