The Texas A&M Aggies will be meeting up with the Missouri Tigers in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Conference tournament. When the Aggies visited the Tigers on March 5, it was a battle that came down to the end. The Tigers were able to hold off the Aggies by a score of 57-56 in this game with a big second half performance. Jabari Brown led the way for Missouri with 20 points, four rebounds and a steal and helped get this tight victory.
With Missouri down three, Earnest Ross drove to the basket and scored to make it a one point Aggie lead with 16 seconds left in the game. Missouri was then able to foul Jamal Jones to send him to the line for a 1-and-1 with the Aggies still up one. If Jones hits both free throws, Texas A&M goes up three. However, Jones missed the front end, Ross went up for the rebound and was fouled on the play. This sent Ross to the line for a 1-and-1 with 7 seconds left in the game and they're down by one. Ross buried both shots and put the Tigers up one. The Aggies got the ball to the other end of the court, called a timeout, and then turned the ball over on the inbound pass.
Ross finished the night with just seven points but the majority of those came in crunch time when the team really needed it. Texas A&M was led by Alex Caruso with 13 points, two rebounds, four assists, five steals and a block. The Tigers went to 21-9 after the win.
