Wednesday night, the Tennessee Volunteers will face the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

The Tennessee Volunteers shook off a slow start and rallied to get past the Butler Bulldogs 67 - 55 on Sunday afternoon.   The game was tight in the early going with neither team willing to give an inch to their opponent.  But as the half drew to a close, the Bulldogs began to pull away.  Butler took a 9 point lead into the locker rooms at the half.  The Volunteers came back in the 2nd half though it took them nearly the entire period to take an advantage over the Bulldogs.  In the closing minutes, the Volunteers made shots as the Bulldogs missed them and that made the difference.  Tennessee shot 50% from the field as they we led by Josh Richardson and his 20 point effort. The Volunteers have another tough opponent on tap and will have to start better if they want more of a chance to take the win over NC State.       

The North Carolina State Wolfpack took a stunning loss Sunday afternoon as they fell to the Wofford Terriers by a score of 55 - 54. The terriers opened the game on a 6 -0 run and that might have stunned the Wolfpack. The Terriers held the lead for most of the 1st half before the Wolfpack finished the half strong with a 5 point lead. Wofford picked up the effort in the 2nd half as they kept NC State from opening up a big lead.  A late rally gave the Terriers the lead with less than a minute left.  But NC State regained the lead with just 35 seconds left.  It would take a last second shot from Wofford to steal the win.  Trevor Lacey led the Wolfpack with an 18 point effort but NC State shot just 42% and that doomed them.  NC State will more than likely play much better when they face Tennessee.
