The 11 seed Tennessee Volunteers were able to take out the Iowa Hawkeyes in an overtime first round matchup in the NCAA Tournament. This game was awfully tight until the overtime started and the Volunteers stepped on the collective throat of the Hawkeyes by outscoring them 14-1 in the overtime. Tennessee ended the regular season with a 22-12 overall record and a 11-7 SEC conference record. Coming into this game, they've won 6-of-7 games with their only loss coming to the 1 seed Florida Gators in the SEC Conference tournament. The Volunteers will be led by Jordan McRae and Jarnell Stokes. McRae leads the team in scoring and assists averaging 18.6 ppg and 2.5 apg. Stokes averages 14.8 ppg and 10.4 rpg. This is Tennessee's 19th tournament appearance and they'll be looking to get their first Final Four run in school history. However, if they're going to do that, they'll have to start by beating the Massachusetts Minutemen.

The Minutemen come into the tournament on somewhat of an average note as they've lost three of their last five games coming into the tournament. However, they are here and it's the first time they've been in the tournament since 1998. They'll be looking for their first tournament win since John Calipari and Marcus Camby were on campus. The Minutemen are led in scoring and assists by Chaz Williams who averages 15.8 ppg and 7 apg. Cady Lalanne has also been a big contributer this year with 11.4 ppg and 8 rpg. This game could be a tight one and with the Volunteers playing well coming into the tournament, the seedings may not have as much of an impact.
