The Syracuse Orange will be squaring off against the #7 Villanova Wildcats on Saturday in what should be a defensive battle. During the 2013-14 season, the Wildcats were able to easily defeat the Orange 78-62 in Syracuse.

Syracuse was able to snap their two-game losing streak last Sunday when they edged Louisiana Tech 71-69 at home. They did turn the ball over 17 times in that win, but they also finished with a 40-30 rebounding advantage.

So far this year, the Orange are one of the top rebounding teams in the country by grabbing 41.3 boards per game. Senior forward Rakeem Christmas has been excellent by averaging 16.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game while making 60.4 percent of his shots. Freshman forward Chris McCullough has made 54.1 percent of his shots and is averaging 13.3 points and 8.4 boards per game.

Villanova kept their unbeaten run going last Sunday night when they blew out Temple 85-62 at home. They made nine of their 15 three-point attempts in that win and finished with a 52.9 field goal percentage.

The Wildcats have only given up 56.7 points per game this season while also stealing the ball 9.3 times per game. Guard Josh Hart has been their best all-around player by averaging 10.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game while making nearly 60 percent of his shot attempts.
