Tuesday night, the Stony Brook Seawolves will take on the Cincinnati Bearcats.

The Stony Brook Seawolves had no trouble getting past the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints 70 - 49 in their last game on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints opened the game with a 5 -2 lead but that would be the only lead that they would hold in this one. The Seawolves quickly took over and never looked back.  At the half, Stony Brook was up 37 – 16 and if the Division II Saints were sending up any prayers, they weren’t being heard.  Stony Brook didn’t let up in the 2nd half as they held a double-digit lead the rest of the way.  The Seawolves were led by Jameel Warney and his 15 points as Stony Brook shot 45% overall and 42% from 3-point territory.  But Stony Brook will face a much tougher opponent when they take on Cincinnati. 

The Cincinnati Bearcats didn’t look their best the last time out and they fell to the Ole Miss Rebels 66 -54 for their first defeat of the season.  The Bearcats started the game on a 7 – 3 run but the Rebels started to turn things around.  Ole Miss took a mall lead and held on to it for the rest of the 1st half to take a 30 - 25 lead at the break.  As hard as the Bearcats tried, they just couldn’t find a way to get on top of the Rebels.  The main reason for the loss was the horrid shooting displayed by Cincinnati.  The Bearcats shot just 30% from the field and only 10% from beyond the arc as they were led by Octavius Ellis and his 13 points.  Cincinnati will need to shoot at a higher percentage if they want to beat anyone, let alone Stony Brook.
