Tuesday night, the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will take on the Memphis Tigers.   

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks faced little resistance in their last game from the Austin Peay Governors as they took an 83 - 62 victory.   The Lumberjacks started the game in control and never let up on the Governors the rest of the way.  The Governors were never really in it in the 1st and at the half, the Lumberjacks were up 44 - 28.  The 2nd half was a lot closer but Stephen F. Austin never really felt threatened by Austin Peay.  The Lumberjacks shot a lusty 63% from the field and 35% from 3-point territory as they were led by Jacob Parker and his 19 points.  Stephen F. Austin can expect much more competition from Memphis in their next game.

The Memphis Tigers didn’t start well in their last game and they barely finished better than they started as they took a 72 -62 victory over the Indiana State Sycamores on Friday night.  The Sycamores were the better team early on and the Tigers seemed out of sorts.  But they soon regained their form and took control en route to a 40 - 22 halftime lead.  But the Sycamores wouldn’t go away that easily.  After Memphis went up by 22 in the 2nd, Indiana State started rallying back.  They cut the lead to just 7 before the Tigers pulled away to hold on and seal the victory.  Shaq Goodwin’s 19 points led the Tigers as they shot 46% overall and 41% from 3-point land.  The Tigers will have to learn that they just can’t take any opponent lightly because anyone can beat you at any time.
