Friday night, the St. Louis Billikens will take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

The St. Louis Billikens had to play hard in the 2^nd half of their last game to come away with a 57 -54 win over the North Carolina A&T Aggies. St. Louis held the advantage for most of the 1^st half but a late surge by North Carolina A&T gave them a 21 - 20 lead at the half. The Aggies built upon that lead in the 2^nd half as the Billikens tried to chip away at it. Finally, in the closing minutes of the game, the Billikens got the lead. And for the last few minutes of the game, St. Louis brushed back a late charge by North Carolina A&T that was capped by a last second 3-pointer that ended up as the game's final points. The Billikens shot just 34% overall and 33& from beyond the arc as they were paced by Miles Reynold and his career high 19 points. If the Billikens don't shoot better than 34%, they will have a hard time beating Mississippi State.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs didn't play their best in their last time out but they still took a 59 -46 victory over the Clayton State Lakers. Clayton State wasn't expected to keep up with Mississippi State but they did thanks to the Bulldogs' sloppy play. Despite missed shots and turnovers, the Bulldogs still had a 29 -18 lead at the half. Mississippi State played slightly better in the 2^nd half but it still wasn't anything to be proud of. Roquez Johnson led the Bulldogs with 15 points as they shot just 38% overall. A lackluster effort like that was enough to get past Clayton State but it won't work for Mississippi State against a better team.
