On Monday night, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights will be playing in their first road game of the season when they visit the Clemson Tigers. Both teams have played a lot better on defense than on offense so far this season.
On Saturday night, Rutgers scored just eight second-half points against #7 Virginia and were blown out 45-26 on their home court. They missed all 13 of their three-point attempts in that loss, and they ended up shooting just 25 percent overall.
The Scarlet Knights' top scorer so far this year is senior guard Myles Mack, who is averaging 14.3 points, 4.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game through six games. Forward Junior Etou has scored 8.5 points per game while pulling down a team-high 8.2 rebounds per game.
On Friday night, Clemson won their third game in a row when they edged High Point 62-59 at home. They won that game despite making just 35.6 percent of their shots and finishing with 14 turnovers.
Through their first six games of the season, the Tigers have scored 69.2 points per game while giving up 60 points per game. Junior center Landry Nnoko has been their best all-around player by averaging 12.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game.
