On Sunday afternoon, the Richmond Spiders will try to start their first winning streak of the season when they visit the James Madison Dukes. Last year, the Spiders were able to easily beat the Dukes by the score of 68-53 at home.

Richmond was able to snap their two-game losing skid on Wednesday night by edging William & Mary 68-67 at home. Their defense was very good in that game, forcing William & Mary to commit 18 turnovers.

The Spiders have shot very well as a team so far this season, making nearly 48 percent of their shots. Senior guard Kendall Anthony has been their go-to player so far this season and is now averaging 15.8 points per game. Junior forward Alonzo Nelson-Ododa is averaging 8.8 points per game this year with a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game.

On Tuesday night, James Madison picked up their fifth win of the year by defeating Campbell 63-61 at home. They made over 51 percent of their shots in that win and finished with a 30-26 rebounding advantage.

So far this season, the Dukes have been able to win the majority of their games despite giving up nearly 70 points per game. Sophomore forward Yohanny Dalembert has had a pretty good start to the year by averaging 11 points while also leading the team in rebounding with 5.4 per game.
