The Radford Highlanders will be going for their third straight win on Sunday afternoon when they face the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Hokies were able to easily beat the Highlanders 81-56 at home last year.

Last Saturday, Radford played solid defense against Texas A&M-CC and pulled off a 57-46 home win. In that game, they forced 12 turnovers and were able to hold Texas A&M-CC to just a 34.8 field goal percentage.

The Highlanders have not shot the ball well this season, making just 39.2 percent of their shots as a team. Senior forward Javonte Green has had a good start to the season by averaging 13.1 points and 10 rebounds per game. Junior guard Rashun Davis has scored 10 points per game this year with 3.4 assists per game.

Virginia Tech has their two-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday when Penn State defeated them 61-58 on the road. The Hokies played good defense in that loss, but their offense only ended up making 38.5 percent of their shots.

So far this season, the Hokies have scored 68.6 percent of their shots while making 49 percent of their shots. Their top scorer has been junior guard Adam Smith, who has averaged 12.9 points per game this season while making 52.3 percent of his shots. Junior forward Joey Van Zegeren is averaging 11.9 points and a team-high seven rebounds per game.
