The Purdue Boilermakers will try to win their fourth game in a row to start the season when they face off against the Kansas State Wildcats on Monday afternoon in the EA Sports Maui Invitational.

Purdue kept up their high-scoring ways when they blew out Grambling State 82-30 on Thursday night. Their defense was very solid in that win by forcing 27 turnovers and holding Grambling State to a 26.8 percent field goal percentage.

So far this season, the Boilermakers have been one of the most unselfish teams in the country by notching 19.7 assists per game. Their best player through three games has been freshman Vince Edwards, who is averaging 13.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, one steal and one block per game.

Kansas State lost their first game of the year on Friday night when Long Beach State pulled off a 69-60 upset. The Wildcats had 15 turnovers in that loss and only ended up making 32.8 percent of their shots.

The Wildcats have been able to score 80.3 points per game this season, but they have also given up 70 points per game. Their go-to guy has been senior forward Thomas Gipson, who is averaging a team-high 17 points and 6.7 rebounds per game so far this season. Guard Nigel Johnson has scored 10.7 points per game this year and he leads the team in steals with two per game.
