In a Big East Tournament quarterfinal matchup, the Providence Friars will face off against the St John's Red Storm. Both teams come into this game with identical records. Cotton led the way for Providence by getting in 32 points, four rebounds, six assists and a steal. Providence ran off 14 straight points and got the score down to 67-60 with under nine minutes to play. The Friars got the lead down to six but that was as close as they would come as St John's put the clamps on.

The Friars also got a nice game out Kadeem Batts with 15 points, 10 rebounds, an assist and two blocks in the effort. It just wasn't enough. Two statistics that stand out in this game are turnovers and shooting percentage. Providence ended the game shooting just 38.1 percent and had 15 turnovers to St. John's 50 percent from the field and only five turnovers.
