On Monday, the Portland Pilots will be opening up their West Coast Conference schedule when they visit the BYU Cougars. During the 2013-14 season, the Pilots and the Cougars split their two-game series against each other.

In their last game, Portland picked up their third win in a row when they defeated San Diego 61-58 on the road. They won that game despite making just 37 percent of their shots and finishing with 19 turnovers.

The Pilots are scoring over 70 points per game this season while only allowing their opponents to average about 60 points per game against them. Their top scorer has been senior guard Kevin Bailey, who is now averaging 13.1 points per game on the year.

On Saturday night, BYU had their three-game winning streak snapped when #8 Gonzaga beat them 87-80 at home. The Cougars made less than 40 percent of their shot attempts in that loss and they ended up turning the ball over 12 times.

Through 14 games, the Cougars are one of the top scoring teams in the country, but they are also giving up over 75 points per game. Senior guard Tyler Haws has been their go-to player so far this season by averaging 21.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Junior guard Kyle Collinsworth has scored 13.1 points per game and leads the team in rebounding with 7.8 per game.
