Tuesday night, the Pittsburgh Panthers will face the Indiana Hoosiers.

The Pittsburgh Panthers came out in their last game determined to shake off their recent loss and that’s what they did as they ran over the Kansas State Wildcats 70 – 47.  A 6 -0 run by the Wildcats game them the early lead and they eventually went up 10 - 3 before the Panthers woke up.  The chipped away at the lead and eventually took a slim 30 -27 advantage at the half.  In the 2nd half, Pittsburgh put together all of the pieces as they stayed ahead of Kansas State the rest of the way.  The win was keyed by Pittsburgh’s 55% shooting from the field and 53% from beyond the arc. The Panthers also held the Wildcats to just 32% shooting overall.  If the Panthers can put together another complete effort against Indiana, they will more than likely come away with the win.

The Indiana Hoosiers had to fight in their last game to hold on for an 87-79 victory over the UNC-Greensboro Spartans.  The Hoosiers took control early and held the lead the entire 1st half.  As the teams went to the locker room at the half, Indiana was up 50 -34 and an easy 2nd half seemed assured.  But no one told the Spartans that.  UNC-Greensboro went down by 22 points in the 2nd before they started chopping away at the lead.  By the late stages of the game, the Indiana lead was just 6 and the Hoosiers were running scared.  Indiana stiffened up and held on the final few minutes.  The Hoosiers got 24 points out of James Blackmon Jr. as they shot 50% overall but just 37% from 3 –point distance.  If the Hoosiers lose focus late in their next game, they might not come away with a win like they did in this one.
