Friday afternoon, the Penn State Nittany Lions will take on the Bucknell Bison.

The Penn State Nittany Lions needed a late rally in their last game to squeeze past the Akron Zips 78 - 72. Akron started the game on an 8 -0 run and led by double digits for most of the 1^st half. The Zips had a 45 -32 lead at the half but the Nittany Lions came back in the 2^nd. Penn State went on a 15 - 0 run to open the 2^nd half and took the lead. The game went back and forth for the rest of the way but Akron wasn't able to hold on against Penn State. The Nittany Lions shot 45% from the field and 36% from 3-point range as they were led by D.J. Newbill and his 29 point effort. The slight scare might prompt Penn State to start faster against Bucknell.

The Bucknell Bison escaped with a 58 - 55 win in against the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks in their last game. Bucknell started slow but ended the 1 ^st half on a tear as they used a 12 -0 run to take a 32 -17 lead into the locker room at the half. But the 2^nd half would be completely different for the Bison. They squandered the 15 point halftime lead and allowed the Hawks to get back into the game. With seconds left to go, Maryland-Eastern Shore had a 2 point lead. But a costly foul led to three free throws that gave Bucknell the lead and a final basket sealed the win for the Bison. Bucknell shot 44% from the field and 41% from beyond the arc. But if the Bisons blow a lead against the Nittany Lions, they might not be able to come back.
