The 7 seed Oregon Ducks (23-9, 10-8 Pac-12) face the 10 seed BYU Cougars (23-11, 13-5 WCC) on Thursday. These two teams met already once this year with a wild game that ended in a score of 100-96, with the Ducks coming out on top. The Ducks have been playing some of their best basketball of the year in the last few games and BYU will be missing a very important Kyle Collinsworth due to a knee injury.

Collinsworth was the Cougars second leading scorer, averaging 14 points per game. That alone will leave a big hole in their offense. Although they took a loss to the Gonzaga Bulldogs the last time they played, both Tyler Haws and Eric Mika looked good in the game. Haws scored 24 points and Mika grabbed 10 boards. If BYU wants to get out of the first round, they'll look to players like Matt Carlino and Skyler Halford to have more productive games than they've been displaying recently.

The Ducks will be looking for solid games out of their top players Joseph Young, Jason Calliste, and Mike Moser. The Ducks are coming off a disappointing 82-63 loss against UCLA. Look for Oregon to come back with a bit of fire in this first round matchup coming off the loss. We see this being a close game.
